Dakota Blonde - Host Band
|
|
DAKOTA BLONDE - Soulful, delicate, powerful, insightful… all that and
more,” are the words Michael Johnson (International recording
artist/song-writer) uses to describe Dakota Blonde. “Highly addictive &
absolutely contagious” is how their loyal & captivated audiences describe them!
Any way you put it, Dakota Blonde, made up of Mary Huckins, Don Pinnella & Tony
Raddell have played and sung their way into countless hearts & souls around the
globe! They met through their careers in Music Therapy and yes… they have a
special knack for including audiences in their music and finding the heart
strings that music plays in all of us. This special capacity for empathy could
explain the titanium bond the band quickly forms with their audiences.
Performing originals and covers with their unique blend of heart, humor,
authenticity and spirit, Dakota Blonde has received top honors for their
song-writing, CD projects and performances across the country and
internationally. www.DakotaBlonde.com

Smythe & Taylor - Host Band
|
|
SMYTHE AND TAYLOR - TC Smythe and Gary Taylor are known for their tight,
symbiotic harmonies, their humorous lyrics and ‘3-D’ brand of guitar playing.
They've been performing together since 2000 and have 8 CDs between them. They
offer an eclectic variety of acoustic music, including contemporary and familiar
tunes as well as their award-winning originals. Their live shows celebrate the
craft of songwriting in bluegrass, blues, folk, and Americana music. As one
reviewer put it, “Lots of humor, lots of fun, but some really poignant and
insightful songs as well”. TC and Gary have completed five world tours and have
appeared at the Guildford Music Festival in England five years running, Winners
of the national Woody Guthrie Song Writing Contest and the 2009 Vocal Group of
the Year Texas Music Awards, their craft of songwriting includes a blend of
bluegrass, blues, folk, Celtic, pop and Americana music. www.SmytheAndTaylor.com

Chuck Pyle
|
|
CHUCK PYLE - An accomplished songwriter, Chuck's songs have been recorded
by John Denver, The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band and Suzy Bogguss. Country fans know
him best for writing, "Cadillac Cowboy", recorded by the late Chris LeDoux, and
"Jaded Lover", recorded by Jerry Jeff Walker. While fans love his recordings,
they adore Chuck's live performance. The first time he made an audience laugh,
he was "hooked". A nimble guitarist, critics say his sense of rhythm is more
like a fine classical or jazz, soloist, his songwriting musically sophisticated
yet full of uncluttered space. “Chuck Pyle's songs, playing and singing are
transporting. If you're looking for top-flight alt-country-inflected
contemporary folk... this is it." – Sing Out www.ChuckPyle.com

Runaway Express
|
|
RUNAWAY EXPRESS - Comprised of Salli and Jim Ratts, Butch Hause and Ernie
Martinez, Runaway Express has been a fixture of the Denver music scene for
decades. They have backed up and played with numerous artists, including The
Ragin’ Cajun Doug Kershaw, Chuck Berry, David Bromberg, Michael Martin Murphy,
The Coasters, The Kingston Trio and John Prine. Seemingly unafraid of lengthy
‘theme shows’ on almost any topic, they have performed an amazing 5-hour (no
breaks!!) All Woodstock Music Extravaganza featuring songs by The Band, Crosby,
Stills and Nash, Jefferson Airplane, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Creedence
Clearwater Revival, Richie Havens, Neil Young, John Sebastian, the Grateful Dead
and The Who. Runaway Express has played a 30-song tribute to Bob Dylan,
performed at the Telluride Bluegrass Festival 6 times and has played the Red
Rocks stage. Their repertoire of more than 2,500 songs is a smorgasbord of
classic country, rock, folk, bluegrass, blues, reggae and roots/Americana music
that has inspired 3 generations of Americans. www.runawayexpress.com

Jerry Barlow
|
|
JERRY BARLOW - An acclaimed Celtic fingerstyle guitarist, award winner
singer/ song writer, Jerry is also known for his warm and accessible
performances and storytelling. His repertoire is a synthesis of his own Celtic
inspired compositions and the traditional music of the British Isles. In
concert, Jerry brings traditional Celtic tunes alive by sharing the history,
humor and legends behind the music. His expressive arrangements have been
described as music to soothe the soul, warm the heart and lift the spirit. His
music has the power to transport the listener across time and space on an
imaginary journey to a rustic Irish fishing village, the misty Scottish
Highlands or an ancient English forest. www.jerrybarlow.com
